Hensol Castle is located within 650 acres of Welsh countryside and adjacent to the four-star Vale Resort, which is home to the Welsh national rugby team as well as a training venue for the Cardiff Blues, the Football Association of Wales and Cardiff City Football Club.
The Vale Resort is celebrated as one of the UK’s principal bases to host international sporting teams and training camps, so much so it was an official team base for visiting teams playing matches in Wales in the 2015 Rugby World Cup.
Where else would you find seven FIFA and IRB standard training pitches, an international size 3G all-weather pitch, a 50m by 60m indoor training arena, which are all supported by expert chefs and staff who understand the needs and nuances of hosting and feeding elite sporting athletes? That’s right, the Vale Resort!
Did you know…The Vale Resort has built up a reputation as the ‘lucky hotel’ in sporting circles after the likes of Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester Utd and Blackburn all won trophies when staying at the hotel.
More recently, the luck has continued for Real Madrid who were victorious in the UEFA European Super Cup held in Cardiff and the British and Irish Lions 2013 squad who used the resort as a training camp ahead of their winning tour to Australia.
